![]() ![]() At the moment I'm using a patched compile of wine 1.3.5 that works around the gamebryo renderer error. I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers with Ubuntu 10.04. If I try higher settings the game will either crash on loading the game world, or if it gets past that point, when I look at the pip boy, go to the game menu, or load a new area of the world but entering or exiting a building. I spent a decent amount of time messing with stuff then I just randomly tried it in a 64 bit prefix I use for Ida pro, and it worked perfectly. I even went into the Fallout.ini and Falloutprefs.ini and turned off a bunch of stuff that the lowest settings from the launcher won't disable. FYI: if New Vegas is crashing in wine when you start a new game, use a wine 64 bit prefix. It will fail to patch the mapper but will patch the Fallout.exe and allow us to play the restoration project. (yes to overwrite the files) -Look in the Fallout 2 folder for the F49+.exe file that was extracted and run it. I'm only able to play the game reliably if it is windowed at the lowest resolution possible (800x500) with the lowest possible graphics settings. 7) Download the citylimit49mapper here and place it into your Fallout 2 follder. If you are using Steam you need to make a backup of GameOverlayRenderer.dll in your Steam directory and remove it after launching steam and before launching the game, or else it will immediately crash because the Steam in-game community stuff doesn't work. For anyone searching around, they have added a fix to be released in wine 1.3.6 that will fix the error loading gamebryo renderer.
